It was a bumpy 40-minute drive from where the zodiacs dropped us off on the beach. We were all harnessed up and ready for instruction about 20 minutes later.

I took several photos I want to show you, so I'm dividing them up into two posts. The first will show the scenery and the photo they took of me going on the third line. The next will show what it was like up in the air. We started off under cover of lots of trees. The first line was very short to get us used to the feeling and how to brake. I think there were seven guides that went with us, doing all of the fastening and unfastening of the safety lines and pulleys. The second was longer and the third, where this photo was taken was longer still.

After the third line, we walked across a suspension bridge through the trees to the next line. It was only scary when the guides thought it was funny to jump up and down, causing the bridge to sway and bump and slide. After the bridge stopped moving, one guide took my photo for me, or told me he was going to take it after grabbing my camera from me.

At the top of the bridge, we were waiting in a group and luckily there were a couple of monkeys in the trees to distract us a little from the height and the swaying of the platform. Of course the monkeys were sleeping and far from each other, so we couldn't get them in one shot. Here's one of them.

After three more lines, we walked up a large hill and came to a more arid area, with cactus and dry grass. The longer lines started and the guides offered us chances to swing upside down and Superman style. I'll show you those photos and how it looked up in the air next time! Stay tuned!

Leah the Adventurer!
So how high is this rickety, swinging bridge!? Wow. So cool to be way up high, right in there with the monkeys!
Will we see you hang gliding next? Scaling a mountain? :)
