An Afternoon in Zurich

Remko's friend Malte from Germany came for the weekend and we had a chance to sightsee for an afternoon in Zurich on Friday. Our first stop after driving around and around downtown looking for a parking spot was Großminster, one of three churches in the center of town on the river.

It's possible to climb the tower to see the city from high up, so the three of us hiked up all 915 stairs. They started with claustrophobic stone spiral stairs. Here's Malte.

Then they transform into creaky wooden planks about halfway up.

Even with the scary moments where you can see the tower shaft ALL the way down through the cracks in the wood floor, it was worth the view from the top.
